Bijou in her service vest

BIJOU

Here is my service dog, "BIJOU".

She is well trained.

She is a Chinese Crested Powder Puff    (yes, that's the real breed name)

She is one year old now.  She loves all people, kids, and especially cats!

(Though they sometimes don't reciprocate.)

As a service dog she can go everwhere with me.  If you have a service dog....please....

do not take no as an answer.  No one can tell you that it is their business and they don't

want a dog there.

I have had problems with the airport, restaurants, drug stores.  They have all lost.

Chinese Crested Dogs

The Chinese Crested Dog has three varieties:  the Hairless, the Hairy Hairless, and the Powder Puff.  Each litter usually has a variety present.   Hairlessness is the dominant trait. Therefore, hairless and powderpuff  dogs are often siblings.

The Hairless has no hair except for the hairy head,  tail, and feet. The Powder Puff has a lot of long, flowing hair.  The Hairy Hairless has hair in different places.

They usually weigh between 7 to 13 pounds, and are from 11 to 13 inches tall.

There are no unpleasant odors, ticks, and fleas, because they're not prone to them.  No allergies.  They don't shed.

The breed goes back 800 or more years in China, and it originated in Africa. It's closely related, genetically, to the Basenji. It found its way to Europe in the 1800's.

Their personalities are wonderful.  Friendly with kids, dogs, and cats.  Not much of a barker, either.
